Derby Excel have a long history of producing elite swimmers through their Performance Pathway programme many of whom have represented their country at international competitions including European, Commonwealth, World and Olympic Games
They are the Performance Pathway programme for Derbyshire and have been since 2000 allowing young swimmers to fulfil their ambitions while remaining members of their home clubs.
Derby Excel host numerous high quality open meet competitions around the Midlands and thereby expose any sponsor to a wide and varied audience.
They are also a community based swimming club with a strong age group programme taking swimmers from the learning stages through to elite athletes.

Building on the success of the City of Derby and Derventio Excel Swimming Clubs, the newly formed Derby Excel Swimming Club provides the next generation competitive and performance Club for Derby city and south Derbyshire.
The Club provides a clear, and robust pathway for talented swimmers to progress from club to performance and podium.
The Club volunteers and committee work hard to ensure that the Club operates as a professional organisation, ensuing swimmers are safe and have an enjoyable experience.
The City Council is supportive of the Club and shares its aspirations to develop individuals whatever age, ability, or background they have to fulfill their potential as a swimmer.
