Thanks so much to Kara Hanlon for coming to IASC on Wednesday 2nd October and giving two inputs to our swimmers. What an amazing inspiration and our swimmers had the best time. Kara had an amazing story to tell about her swimming journey and she is currently the British 200m Breaststroke Champion as well as holding the Scottish Records for 50m/100m Breaststroke SC/LC. Last Saturday on our Loch Ness Boat Trip our very own Sandra Lea was presented with a lifetime membership of IASC by Fiona and Matty on behalf of the junior swimmers, the masters swimmers, the committee and the coaching staff. CONGRATULATIONS on a Well Deserved Award and Recognition to our very own Denis for all your involvement and knowledge in the Swimming World. An outstanding Volunteer to our area and club. Although Denis is very much North District! A fantastic Coach for our C Squad as well as an AOE Operator, Judge and Starter around the District. Denis follows on from Jayne Prosser, who won the award last year as she retired from her volunteering from IASC, although we do still see Jayne around sometimes.
Fantastic weekend at Thurso Open. What a great show of Team Purple swimmers who did the club proud with their swims, team support and super loud cheering. Some great results. Lots of wigs, tattoos and hats being worn. Unfortunately not enough photos of the boys wearing the hats etc, next time!!! Thanks also to the coaching team of Chris, Matty and Shona and to all the volunteers whether Technical Officials or those who work in the background to make it happen. Fantastic Day for our Team Purple Swimmer at the ND Sprint Championships in Aberdeen. Our Team of Sam, Leah, Tyla, Dougal, Katelin, Gillies, Nathan, Freya, Megan and Anwen all did us proud.
