REPTON APPOINTS JAMIE MAIN AS DIRECTOR OF SWIMMING FROM JANUARY 2025 Repton is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Jamie Main as Repton's Director of Swimming. The end of the 2023-2024 season was nothing but extraordinary for our club, with swimmers racing in Paris, Lithuania and Sheffield throughout July and August. Eva Okaro represented Team GB at the Olympic Games in Paris and stepped up maturely at her first senior international meet where she swam 2 lifetime relay splits to help the Women's 4x100m Freestyle Team finish 7th in the Olympic Final. On Sunday, Repton’s Development Pathway headed to Nottingham for the 46th Nottingham Northern Open Meet. We had 55 swimmers attending and competing in events from 50m up to 200m IM. 6 swimmers represented the club for the first time in an external environment. Over the course of the day, swimmers received a number of trophies for their placings in individual races. This year’s East Midland Regional Championships spanned across April and May in a new and extended format that involved swimming across 5 separate days in 2 different venues. With heats and finals for all events of 400m and shorter, this provided some great opportunities for Repton Swimmers to make progress with their race skills in the arena. We are delighted to announce that Repton swimmer Megan Neave has been selected to compete for Paralympics GB at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Repton swimmer Eva Okaro has made history with her selection for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games for Team GB. At 17 years-old, Eva will be one of the youngest competitors at the games. She is the first ever swimmer to compete at the Olympics whilst at Repton and is our first Olympic swimmer, demonstrating the stratospheric rise of Repton Swimming since beginning in 2019. Between 2nd-7th April, Aquatics GB (formerly known as British Swimming) hosted the British Championships and Olympic Trials in The London Aquatics Centre, in London’s 2012 Olympic Park. The competition incorporated the annual championships but in this Olympic year, also served as the qualification event for this Summer’s Olympic Games, the Paralympic Games and the European Junior Swimming Championships.
