Derby Excel is looking for an experienced and inspirational Director of Swimming to lead our performance and community swimming programmes. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of one of the UK’s leading clubs, working with talented athletes, dedicated coaches, and supportive partners.
What You’ll Do
• Lead and deliver Derby Excel’s performance pathway, inspiring swimmers to succeed at national and international level.
• Oversee and develop our coaching team, building a culture of excellence, growth, and inclusion.
• Champion our values: Commitment, Courage, Care, ensuring all members feel supported and safe.
• Build strong relationships with partners including Derby City Council, Moorways Sports Village, Derby University, and pathway clubs.
• Drive innovation in coaching and operations while identifying opportunities for sustainable growth.
What We’re Looking For
• UKCC Level 3 (or equivalent) in swimming coaching.
• Proven experience coaching athletes to junior/senior international level.
• Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
• A passion for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) and creating an environment where all swimmers can thrive.
• Ability to inspire, influence, and represent the club at regional and national level.
