At Leicester Sharks, we pride ourselves on our core valuesThese are:

#Respect

Showing respect to every person you come into contact with; all teammates, parents, volunteers, lifeguards, coaches, officials, members of the public and other swimmers outside of Leicester Sharks. Most importantly, show respect to yourself and your swimming.

  • Showing good manners and appreciation for all that help you on your journey. From coaches to lifeguards to team managers at competitions.
  • Respect the environment that you operate in. Consideration to others, keeping areas tidy and uphold excellent changing room etiquette.
  • Listen to advice given by coaches, with a willingness to learn and showcase the ability to take in constructive feedback.

#Responsibility

Whether you are succeeding or struggling, take ownership of your actions. By promoting a growth mindset, we are disciplined and committed to our swimming. Determination to succeed is solely your responsibility.

  • The choices you make will determine what you can achieve. Making mistakes is part of the journey, but learning from them can lead to greater success.
  • Understanding your weaknesses makes you a good swimmer, taking accountability to change them into strengths makes you a great swimmer.
  • People can give you the tools to succeed, but only you can display the independence required to apply them into practice.

#Unity

We work together to raise our standards and support each other to achieve our goals. We have a common vision that we strive to accomplish together.

  • We win as a team, we lose as a team and we learn as a team. We are together in every situation.
  • We celebrate everyone’s success and always support each other’s difficult moments. We build ourselves back up to be better and stronger as a team.
  • Enjoy and embrace the path you lead. We are inclusive and support all those that are apart of our journey.

All of our #SharksFamily contribute to these core values and it is what drives us to develop and progress towards success in and out of the pool.
