Gold Development Squad
Join us as we elevate your swimming to the next level! Led by our dedicated coach, Jordan Chappell, this squad is designed for swimmers aiming to qualify for multiple events in the Leicestershire County Championships.
Squad Description
The Gold Development squad is the final step on our development pathway. Here, swimmers will refine their skills and push their limits with the goal of competing successfully at various events.
What to Expect:
- Advanced Drills: Continue to implement a variety of advanced drills over longer distances.
- New Skills: Learn essential techniques such as the crossover turn and stroke-specific race finishes.
- Pace Work & Aerobic Training: Enhance your understanding of pace work while engaging in aerobic-based training that tests your technique and skill maintenance.
With 5 training sessions per week, swimmers will consolidate their skills and improve their aerobic speed, all while preparing for competitive events. Our competition calendar includes long course open meets, county championships, and league galas, providing opportunities to shine. Swimmers who achieve qualifying times will also have the chance to compete at the East Midlands Regionals.
Training Timetable
- Monday: 19:30 - 20:30 at Wigston Leisure Centre
- Tuesday: 18:40 - 20:40 at Leicester Grammar School
- Wednesday: 19:15 - 20:45 at Leicester Grammar School
- Thursday: 19:30 - 21:00 at Enderby Leisure Centre
- Saturday: 06:05 - 08:05 at Enderby Leisure Centre
Land-based sessions: 08:20 - 09:10
Total Pool Hours: 8 hours across 5 sessions
