Coaches and Directors
I am a passionate coach, experienced in competitive swim coaching and aquatic strength and conditioning (S & C).
I believe understanding an individual and what makes them thrive is as important as understanding them as an athlete in the water. Setting high standards and aiming to achieve them on a daily basis is essential to help swimmers reach their potential. Helping swimmers gain autonomy and ownership of their training is a necessary step towards improvement in and out the water.
I swam for Nuneaton & Bedworth SC as a child before going onto study Sport & Exercise Science at Swansea University. In my time in Swansea, I qualified for multiple national competitions whilst training in the Swim Wales High Performance Centre alongside future Olympians Dan Jervis and Alys Thomas. In 2019 I swam with Leicester Sharks upon returning from Uni for the summer.
Since deciding to stop swimming in 2019 I have been the Swansea University Swim Team Captain during the 20/21 season and continued to teach swim lessons regularly.
In the past year I’ve worked with Swim Wales and Swansea Aquatics as an S & C intern. This involved coaching current British Swimmers Medi Harris and Dan Jervis, leading sessions within Swansea Aquatics and providing racing support across multiple Welsh competitions. My time at Swansea and Swim Wales, as both an athlete and a coach, has given me the experience and insight to support and steer Sharks athletes on their aquatic journeys and for the club to achieve long term excellence.
Jordan is an ex-competitive swimmer with over ten years ‘experience in teaching and coaching in an aquatic environment. He spent most of his swimming career competing for Wyre Forest Swimming Club at a regional level, before moving to Coventry to complete his bachelor degree in sports & exercise science. Jordan started his coaching journey at Rugby Swimming Club, coaching athletes to achieve county and regional qualifications. He then moved to Lichfield Swimming Club where he assisted the Head Coach with the performance squads, and continued to develop his coaching philosophy. Jordan later joined Leicester Sharks in the Summer 2022 where he has played a significant role in revamping the development setup. He has created a strong pathway to allow swimmers to transition from learn to swim schemes to reaching county and regional level competitions. This has resulted in success in various open meets and galas while still prioritizing the long term athletic development of every individual. This alongside his passionate approach and desire for high standards resulted in a nomination for the East Midlands development coach of the year 2025.
Jordan places a strong emphasis on skill and technique and his coaching philosophy is based on one of his favourite quotes "swim smarter, not harder''. He has a passion for educating and mentoring young athletes to equip them with the foundations to succeed while instilling into them the club's core values of Respect, Responsibility and Unity. He is always looking to expand on his knowledge by participating in swim camps, attending club visits and completing CPD's.
