ONB County Championships 2024 - Report from Jenny Roberts Earlier this month 9 swimmers from Bourne End represented the club at the ONB County Championships at Aquavale in Aylesbury. For a lot of our swimmers, county championships are the highest level of competition that they will take part in, and they did themselves and the club proud! Swim meets only work because of the volunteers who train to be officials. Without the requisite number of officials, a meet cannot be licenced and our swimmers' times will not be recognised on national rankings. That means improvements in PB's cannot be traced and no entries to qualification events such as Counties :-( When my daughter, Ruby, started competing I decided I would much rather have a poolside view than be stuck in the gallery - and have to pay for that privilege. The Wycombe End of Season Meet was a terrific way to head into the Summer holidays.
