We were delighted to have 15 of our swimmers on deck at Wycombe District's Long Course Sprint Meet this last Saturday. A fast and furious meet of 50m and 100m sprint races. For most of our swimmers, it was the first time they had competed in a 50m pool - a daunting prospect for the inexperienced. However, our swimmers acquitted themselves well and should be proud of themselves for setting or improving on Long Course times. Well done everyone! Congratulations to the following swimmers for achieving Top 3 places in...

Written by Jo Di Monda My coaching journey began similarly to most parents; sitting on the poolside at Wycombe Abbey School every Tuesday while watching my son swim laps of the pool and trying to keep my 8-year daughter occupied. I was approached by the then Chairman, George Hannaford, politely asking for volunteers to help as either a lifeguard or a coach. He managed to convince me to have a go! So, the following week I started to shadow Chris Connell who was in charge of the Development One squad....

Windsor SC Bonfire Meet - 5th & 6th November 2022 On a wet and mostly gloomy Bonfire weekend, 18 of our swimmers took part in the Windsor SC Bonfire Meet at Braywick Leisure Centre in Maidenhead. Some swimmers found the highlight of the weekend to be the Fire Alarm on Saturday afternoon which saw everyone herded outside and wrapped in foil blankets. Fortunately, not a serious intervention and we were all soon safely back in the warm. Our swimmers did a good job across all their events collecting PBs as...

Earlier this year we said a fond farewell to Alex Hannaford, wishing her well in her new role over in Cyprus. Yesterday evening, George Hannaford enjoyed (or grimaced his way through) his last Masters Training session before leaving the club and indeed the country to join his wife in Cyprus. George has been a member of the club for….. a very long time and has contributed much to the club’s success. As well as swimming with the club, he has been the Club Chair and Vice-Club Chair as well as...

Another fast and furious BBATT swim meet is done and dusted. 28 Bourne End swimmers had a terrific time last weekend. There were PBs galore and the jingle jangle of medals. For some swimmers, it was the first time they've ever competed and set times. We hope the experience spurs them on to want to enter future competitions. There were also a few disqualifications; discussed with each swimmer to help them learn from their mistakes. What was incredibly pleasing to see was the mutual support and encouragement of our swimmers...

Three Bourne End swimmers chose to enter the Winchester meet and were rewarded with an opportunity to set and improve times in a fabulous pool that opened in May last year. It was a busy meet, with swimmers representing over 35 clubs and universities. Hari and Zali swam confidently to set their very first long course times. Caitlin last swam a long course meet in 2019, so it was a welcome opportunity to set and improve times. Zalie Set long course times in the 100m Freestyle and 50m Breaststroke Hari...
