This year the club has swimmers going to Summer National Championship competitions across 4 different nations. Ava, Charlotte, Daisy, Ellie L, George, Tom, the Girls 17+ 200m Freestyle Relay Team of Blythe, Hannah, Samantha & Sophia and Sam (swimming with Mount Kelly). Below is a list of events each swimmer has qualified for. The heats are either morning or afternoon with finals in the evenings. All the action can be streamed via YouTube. In an exhilarating finale to The Tudor League, our ojays team put in an awe-inspiring performance, securing a commendable second-place finish in the league. The stakes were high as we vied to defend our coveted shield against formidable rivals Bexley who were just a point ahead of us going into the last round. Sunday 11th June saw two of our Masters swimmers, Max Peel and Ben Langdown, competing in the Kent Masters Championships at Medway Park in the Mens 18-24 category. Orpington Ojays Swim Club put in an outstanding performance at last Saturday’s Crawley Summer Splash gala, showcasing our swimmer’s exceptional talent and determination in the early morning hours and despite the long day ahead in the heat, every swimmer rose to the occasion making the club and parents proud. On Sunday, Ojays travelled to K2 in Crawley for the East Grinstead short course open meet We had an incredible day with some fantastic swims from all our athletes competing against 10 other clubs. By the end of the day, we had achieved an amazing 22 Golds, 12 Silvers and 3 Bronze medals with over half of all 149 individual swims getting a top 6 placing. Orpington Ojays have been making waves at the London Regional swimming championships over the last couple of weekends with some impressive swims over our 51 individual events from the 15 athletes that qualified. Together with our impressive relay teams we brought home a total of four medals, including two golds, one silver, and one bronze and 19 finals to finish 20th out of 41 qualifying clubs from the 88 in the London region.
