Junior Club Captains
Becoming a Junior Club Captain is an honour and a privilege and we are very proud of any of our swimmers who take on this leadership responsibility. To be a Club Captain you must be able to demonstrate commitment to your sport while demonstrating the ability to take responsibility for your training and actions. We expect each Captain to show respect to fellow swimmers, coaches and associated members of the club, while keeping our team ethos at the heart of everything you do.
Role Description
The Junior Club Captain is 12 or under and supports the Senior Club Captain and coaching team by helping to create a welcoming, positive and fun environment for younger swimmers. This role focuses on being a friendly role model, encouraging good behaviour and effort, as well as helping new or less experienced swimmers feel confident in the club.

Help create an encouraging, friendly team atmosphere during training and events

Offer support or reassurance to swimmers who are nervous, new or unsure of routines

Help welcome new members and introduce them to the team

Training & Behaviour

Demonstrate good training habits, including listening to coaches, trying your best and showing respect to others

Help younger swimmers understand warm-ups, lane etiquette or simple instructions when needed

Encourage good sportsmanship, teamwork and fair play

Events & Activities

Help guide younger swimmers at galas or meets (e.g. where to line up, how to stay ready for their races, etc.)
