Southport had very few of their A & B squad swimmers competing, so it was purely down to the young swimmers to show the other squads/clubs how dominate the club are. A tough two days for the Southport swimmers at the Wigan Best, Future Stars Meet over the weekend of 25-27th November. Some of the North West top swimmers and squads took part at the meet. In this competition our swimmers represent Liverpool and District Association. This year the competition and has been brought forward to Sunday 26th June and again is be held at Wigan with the new format lasting just one day. So there were reduced events, ages and competitors. However Southport Swimming Club had 15 swimmers selected for the team, which is roughly half the of the Liverpool and District Team. After a hot sticky two and a half full weekends at Manchester and Liverpool Aquatic Centres throughout May, the Southport Swimmers did themselves and the club proud.
