Congratulations to our swimmers who represented Team Derbyshire today at the National County Team Championships at Ponds Forge. There were 2 Derby Excel swimmers, Ada Moorhouse and Connie Bunhejee, and three from Pathway clubs - Ava Carter and Eden Saint (Belper Marlin), and Connor Furnish (Long Eaton) The Derbyshire team were superb throughout, and came second in Division 1, the highest finish Derbyshire have ever had. Our novice swimmers have been competing at the Derbyshire Junior Grand Prix at Matlock. Once again, this is a great learning experience for our young swimmes, giving them their first taste of racing, and building on their skills over the three rounds. The results can be found here. John will be taking up a position still within swimming, but working from home, allowing him to spend more time with his young family. At our AGM this evening, Ralph Shepherd has been elected as Club President, following the announcement today that current Club President Joyce Mellor has decided to step down. Ralph has been associated with the club for many many years, and recently celebrated his 80th birthday! Congratulations Ralph!
